Ellen Dunlap passed away on August 3, 2017 after 75 years as a devoted wife, mother, daughter and sister. Ellen was born on December 7, 1941 in St. George, Utah to Sherman and Theo Shelley. She was the third of eight children.
Ellen, or Grammy as she is better known to her family, will be best remembered for dedicating 54 years of her life to her four children, 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. This week marked 55 years with her sweetheart, Jerrett W. Dunlap.
She spent much of her time bringing out the splendor that her Father in Heaven blessed her life with. Ellen loved to garden, decorate her home, and get gussied up on occasion in beautifully colored clothing. She had a knack for bringing charm to even the simplest things.
Ellen loved to bring family and friends together, whether it was over clam chowder at her annual Christmas Eve or with Dutch oven peach cobbler and homemade ice cream around a camp fire on the ranch. Even in her last days she brought her family together, bringing the best out in everything and everyone around her one last time.
She is survived by her husband Jerrett and their children Jim, Paige, Jerry and Sherman, as well as her siblings, Sheila, Gerald, Steve, Kelley, Elsie and Dora. She is preceded in death by her parents Sherman and Theo Shelley and her brother Gayle.
Memorial Services for Ellen will be held on August 10, 2017 at 11 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1550 5th St, Colusa.
