Karl David Steidlmayer (1946 – 2018)
Karl David Steidlmayer, 71, passed away on May 20th. David is survived by his wife, Jennifer, of Colusa; daughters Lisa Bailey (Daniel) of Colusa, Sara Hill (Justin) of Live Oak, and Molly Cannell (Bart) of Yuba City; grandchildren Hayden and Alec Bailey, Logan and Macy Hill, and Jack and Laila Cannell. David is also survived by brothers Richard Steidlmayer of Colusa and Jim Steidlmayer of Trumbull, Connecticut. David was preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Louise; sister, Betty Ceragioli; and brother Louis.
David was born in Colusa, CA, on July 31, 1946, to Charles and Louise Steidlmayer. He grew up in Colusa, where he attended Our Lady of Lourdes School and graduated from Colusa High School. David went on to attend Yuba College, and then Chico State University, where he graduated with a degree in Agricultural Business. On June 15th, 1968, David married Jennifer Penning, and they enjoyed a wonderful 49 year marriage, up until the time of his death. David served his country in the United States Army in Korea between 1968-1970. After returning from Korea, David continued his lifelong work on the family farm. Farming was David’s passion and his profession, and he was fortunate to build a very successful farming operation alongside his brother, Richard, and his nephew, Mike, over a span of nearly 50 years.
Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made, in David’s name, to the charity of one’s choice.
