Linda Kay Walker passed away suddenly on Friday, March 23, 2018 at the age of 70. She is survived by her husband of 40 years Stanley M. Walker and her brother Timothy Repp (Marilyn) of Belmont, CA. She is also survived by her daughters Barbara Johnson of Williams, CA and Tracy Timmons (Phil) of Brookeville, MD, and her stepson John “Chris” Walker (Sylvia) of Dubai. Her grandchildren include Osten Carrion-Johnson of Colusa, Zakaria Walker of Oakland, CA, Norman Naseem Walker of Roseville, CA, Jenna and Jourdan Timmons of Brookeville, MD. Also, her nephew Todd Repp and niece Natalie Zigal (Dave).
She was born December 13, 1947 to Gilbert and Kathyrn Repp in Allentown, PA, a place she loved and missed. She moved to San Francisco as a teenager, graduated from Lincoln High School and attended San Francisco Community College. She met and married Tony Johnson and had two daughters. She moved to Half Moon Bay in 1975. In 1978 she married Stanley M. Walker and moved to Colusa, CA in 1979. She found her dream home and worked endlessly to maintain its character and beauty.
Linda worked as one of the last cord board telephone operators in the country at CP National until they closed their office and automated operator services. She worked for a short time at Holiday Food Market then went back to the phone company at Alltel communications. When it closed she sought employment through the County where she worked at the Assessor’s office as a Supervising Assessment Technician for 18 years. She provided all customers with unsurpassed service as well as being the office self-taught Spanish bilingual interpreter.
To say she was a kind soul is an understatement. To all she met and interacted with she gave of herself willingly and left people with a feeling of warmth and love. Linda enjoyed a good laugh even at her own expense, enjoyed her family and grandchildren, her friends, her pets and her house.
Thank you to all who knew and loved our mom. We appreciate all your thoughts and prayers.
Services will be held at McNary-Moore, 107 5th Street in Colusa at 2:00p.m.on Friday, April 13, 2018.
