Lloyd Wayne Ash was born August 24, 1938 to Floyd Ora Ash and Edith Baker Ash in Mundell, Arkansas. He passed away March 28, 2017 at home in Colusa, CA. Lloyd spent the first nine years of his life going back and forth between Arkansas and California, finally settling in Dixon, California. Lloyd served two years in the Army. He was a butcher at Stoven Brothers/Armour in Dixon and Elk grove for 30 years. He then worked in maintenance for the Davis Joint Unified School District for 15 years. Lloyd has been serving the United Methodist Church as a Lay Minister in Maxwell in Maxwell, California for 18 years. Lloyd was very active in the Toastmasters International in Dixon for 28 years, placing in over 78 speech competitions and getting 2nd place in a 1991 Region 1 speech contest which included several states.
Survivors include Joan, wife of 2 years, daughters Dennyece (Jim) Farrell, Pamela (Gene) Taylor, Martha (Jon) Dahlin and Maggie (Derek) Poppleton; 4 stepdaughters, 8 grandchildren, 15 step grandchildren, 8 step great grandchildren and ex-wife Rose Ash. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Floyd Ash.
Memorial Services will be on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 1:00PM at Dixon United Methodist Church, 209 North Jefferson Street, Dixon, CA and Maxwell United Methodist Church Sunday April 9, 2017 at 11:00AM. Lloyd will be laid to rest in a private burial service at Tremont Cemetery in Dixon.
