Martin, son of Alberto Rangel Sierra and Ramona Rangel Lara, from Maxwell, CA, was born on January 18, 1998 and passed away on May 21, 2020. Martin spent three years working for BC Schmidt Construction and was recently employed by CNB Construction, out of Colusa. He was a member of The Sacred Heart Sodality.
Martin was a 2016 graduate of Maxwell High School and attended Santa Rosa City College. In high school, he excelled in basketball, football and baseball. His sophomore year he was a starting player, in basketball, who helped his team claim the Division V, Northern Section Championship title. He was also was apart of the 2013 and 2014, Division IV, Northern Section Championship Title in football. Martin was an All-League recipient in basketball his junior and senior year.
Martin was well-known for his humble personality and contagious smile. He was a dedicated worker for many and no task was to big, a true role model for his generation. Those who knew Martin knew that his family and friends were the most important things in his life. He loved shooting hoops, visiting the gym with is brothers and friends, jogging the streets of his home town and had a passion for eating.
Martin is survived by his parents, Alberto Rangel Sierra and Ramona Rangel Lara, his brothers Ramon Rangel (Ahariz), Gustavo Rangel, Eduardo Rangel, Eusebio Rangel and Gregorio Rangel, his sister Alondra Rangel (Damien), Aunts Maria and Gloria Lara, Uncles Trinidad, Refugio, Guadalupe, Jorge, Amador and Alejo Lara, nephews and nieces Angel, Abel, Damien, Kahlia and Kaleb.
Mass will be held Wednesday, June 3 at 9:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Parish in Maxwell, followed by burial services at the Maxwell Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at the American Legion Hall, in Maxwell, following the burial.
