Nancy Irene Manor, born February 28, 1951, lost her battle with cancer December 18, 2020 in her home in Colusa. Born in Colusa, raised in Arbuckle, she was the fourth child of seven born to Irwin Leroy and Billie (Tate) Sweet.
She graduated from Pierce High School in 1969 and from there attended Yuba College, followed by three years at Cal Polly, SLO. After working for a couple of years, she met and married Lewis G. Manor and they made their home for the next 40 years in Williams where she committed her life to the Lord, home, and family. She was preceded in death by her parents Irwin and Billie Sweet and brothers Leroy Jr. and Tom.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years Lew Manor, daughters Lauren Craft and Addie (John) Bailey and sons Owen, Bryan (Andrea), Nathan (Hannah), Jonathan, Justin, and Lincoln (Lisa) : also, surviving their "Nanny" are 19 grandchildren as well as two brothers, two sisters, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Nancy was a student of many subjects and enjoyed a variety of modern thinkers from Thomas Sowell, Dietrick Bonhoeffer, Ravi Zacharias, and Francis Schaeffer to Jordan Peterson and her favorite, John McArthur.
She loved gardening and had an extensive self-taught knowledge of the subject as well as interior design, and other disciplines of the fine arts.
Nancy did not "suffer fools lightly" yet had numerous people over the years seek her counsel, over coffee and the kitchen table, on life's crucial issues. She sensed real needs and loved helping people. She will be missed.
A graveside service will be held Saturday January 2, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at Williams Cemetery 2438 Zumwalt Road, Williams, CA. A Celebration of Nancy’s Life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Cancer charity of your choice are appreciated.
