Robert “Bob” Mosher, our beloved uncle and friend, was born October 29, 1922 to Charles and Bertha Mosher, and passed away on October 29, 2018, his 96th birthday. Raised in Little Falls New Jersey, Bob joined the United States Navy at 18 and served as Chief Bosun for 20 years, including 3 years of continuous action in the Pacific during World War II. After the war Bob met and married Eleanor Walter, native to Arbuckle California. Most of Bob’s post naval activities were spent in San Francisco as a computer programmer and system’s analyst in an extraordinarily evolving industry from 1961 to the mid 1980’s. The couple finally moved to Sacramento in 2003 in order to be closer to family.
Bob is survived by nephews Steve (Sara) Walter and Bob (Michelle) Walter; his great niece and nephews Kelli, John, Brent, and Zack; and his great-great niece and nephew Sydney and Jack.
Bob will always be remembered for his accomplishments in the Navy, his success in the newly created world of computers, and his determination to further his education after the war by completing High School and earning both Bachelor of Science and Master’s degrees in college. Bob’s friends and family will truly miss his devotion, kindness, and sense of humor which have all been written on his sleeve for 96 wonderful years of giving life. Graveside services will be held on Saturday November 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at the Arbuckle Cemetery, 400 State Rt. 99W, Arbuckle, CA and then friends and family will gather at the Firehouse for Remembrance. Donations in Bob’s name may be made to the Arbuckle Volunteer Fire Department at P.O. Box 727, Arbuckle, CA 95912.
