Robert Louis “Bob” Wallace passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Monday, August 5th at UCD Medical Center in Sacramento.
Bob was born in Colusa County on December 1, 1926, the son of William S. Wallace and Pauline Anthony Wallace. He attended Arbuckle Elementary school and graduated from Pierce High School in Arbuckle. He married Darlene Belle Uhland, also from Arbuckle, on June 15, 1949. They were married for sixty-two years.
Throughout his life, Bob devoted his considerable determination, intelligence, and vitality to his cherished family and their farm. He was a devout Catholic, carrying profound faith and strong ethical convictions into everything he did, earning the friendship and respect of his neighbors and business associates. He enjoyed flying his airplane, hunting and fishing, and playing the piano and organ.
Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Darlene, his son Donald Wallace, his brother William Wallace, and his sister Barbara Wallace Benson. He is survived by his children, Janet Locey; Judy Peters; Sally Lischeske; JoAnn, John, Michael, Diane, Robert Jr., James and Joseph Wallace; twenty-seven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
A rosary will be recited for him at Holy Cross Church on Thursday, August 8th at 6:30 p.m. with visitation beginning at 5:30 p.m. A funeral mass will be held for him at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 9th, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Arbuckle. A graveside service will follow immediately at the Holy Cross Cemetery.
