Sammy “Sam” Joe Duffield passed away at his home on April 14, 2018 at the age of 62 from congestive heart failure. He was born July 7, 1956 to Lillie Mae Duffield in Healsburg, CA.
Sam graduated from high school in 1974 from Geyserville High. Shortly after, he moved to Williams and never left. He worked at Dave’s Tire Service for many years before moving on to Harper’s Auto where he became the lead technician. He became an ASE Certified Technician for engine repair, automatic transaxle manual drive, axle breaks and much more.
Sam loved being a mechanic. His passion was working with tools and teaching his grandson, Damien, how to use them. He also loved playing horseshoes, hunting, gardening, and being with his family. He truly was an incredible man who knew how to fix anything that came his way. If you needed a helping hand, he was always there to be of assistance. My father will be truly missed, especially by his wife, his daughter, and his son-in-law who were right by his side to the end of his days.
Sam Duffield is survived by his daughter, Jamie Camarena (Jermain) and their 4 children Monica, Damien, Julian and Lillie Camarena of Williams, CA; his son Christoper (Kerry) and their 2 children Christopher, Jr. and Kaitlyn Duffield of Woodland, CA; his brother Larry Olds of Oklahoma; his sisters, Billie Ann Harris of Colorado and Ruby June Colin of Missouri. He is also survived by Ellen and David Olds of Williams, CA and Rita Fonnest of Nevada.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Dorothy Duffield, who passed away February 13, 2019. May he rest in peace with his wife Dorothy, his mother Lillie Mae Duffield, his sister Minnie Lou Brown, his brother Grover Cleveland III “Butch” Duffield, and his brother-in-law Doug Fonnest.
