Theodore William Hackelberg passed away in Colusa on April 16, 2020. Born on March 4, 1926 to William and Gertrude Hackelberg, Ted enlisted young into the military serving in the United States Army 11th Airborne Division and was a Veteran of World War II. Later, after his honorable discharge in 1946, Ted went on to be an aircraft mechanic for United Airlines for more than 20 years. He is a 49 year native of Colusa County having made a home with his wife, the former Ruth Gertude Yunghans in the Stonyford area. They raised a family and he enjoyed fishing, was a board member for Cypress Hill Cemetery and was a volunteer for the Indian Valley Fire Department.
Theodore will be deeply missed by his wife of 68-years, Ruth Hackelberg of Stonyford and his two children, Helga Hackelberg and Roy Hackelberg also of Stonyford. He also leaves a grandson, Jarrod Miller of Washoe Valley, NV and two great-granddaughters, Shianne Miller and Jessica Miller.
Interment is private with Ted’s final resting place to be Cypress Hill Cemetery in Lodoga, CA. After the threat of Covid 19 has passed the family will be planning a celebration of Ted’s life that will give friends and family an opportunity to honor and remember this wonderful man.
